Welcome!

Hello, BScar23625/Archive 1, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!

I also saw that one of the articles you edited was Whites in Zimbabwe. As you may have noticed, Wikipedia is always in need of more Africa editors. I don't know if this is a continued area of interest for you, but if it is, here's some other links that you may want to check out:

Good luck, and happy editing! If you ever have any questions, feel free to leave a note on my talk page; lots of folks helped me when I first got here and I'm always glad to pay it forward! --Dvyost 18:19, 24 December 2005 (UTC)

Hmm. Now you raise the matter, I am just starting to wonder if Posse72 isn't some spoof that is trying to wind people up. BobBScar23625 (talk) 17:50, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Trudy2005.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Trudy2005.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 06:44, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

I no longer think the image is suitable for its intended purpose - so it can be deleted BScar23625 (talk) 09:20, 15 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Gulf Oil GA Sweeps Review: On Hold

As part of the WikiProject Good Articles, we're doing sweeps to go over all of the current GAs and see if they still meet the GA criteria. I have reviewed Gulf Oil and believe the article currently meets the majority of the criteria and should remain listed as a Good article. I'm specifically going over all of the "World History-Americas" articles. In reviewing the article, I have found there are some issues that may need to be addressed, and I'll leave the article on hold for seven days for them to be fixed. I have left this message on your talk page since you have significantly edited the article (based on using this article history tool). Please consider helping address the several points that I listed on the talk page of the article, which shouldn't take too long to fix. I have also left messages on the talk pages for other editors and a related WikiProject to spread the workload around some. If you have any questions, let me know on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. --Nehrams2020 (talk) 04:47, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Image:Kay02.jpg

Where did you find this image? Did you take it yourself? east.718 at 17:21, April 4, 2008

East718. No, I didn't take the picture myself. It was taken and circulated by a Zimbabwe civil rights group. They won't raise any copyright issues, believe me. Bob BScar23625 (talk) 17:27, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

  • I've added licensing and a fair use rationale to the above image, could you please fill in the source section to complete it. Polly (Parrot) 03:11, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
