Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
Thank you for your work on Georgia College & State University but I had to revert some of your contributions because you copy and pasted them straight from the GCSU website. This is not allowed in Wikipedia. Please use the website as a source of information but do not copy sentences from it. I hope you will re-write the information using your own words. [edit] July 2007
Please do not post copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Georgia College & State University. [edit] A clarification of Wikipedia policies concerning copyrighted material
The copyrighted material that you copy and pasted from the GC&SU website was removed a second time. It was removed because permission to use copyrighted material must be formally granted. Please read Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for more information. In short, an email should be sent to permissions-en@wikimedia.org from an authorized university address. To be an authorized university address, the email address must be associated with GC&SU and listed on GC&SU website. Do not re-add this copyrighted material unless and until permission has been formally (not informally) granted from the copyright holder.
Also, please be aware that all material on Wikipedia is free for anyone to edit. Once you place material on the GC&SU article, anyone can change it in anyway that they think improves the article. Make sure that you have read the bottom of the page that appears when you are in the edit mode. It states:
"Please note:
- By submitting content, you agree to release your contributions under the GNU Free Documentation License.
- If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly or redistributed by others, do not submit it.
- Only public domain resources can be copied without permission—this does not include most web pages or images.
- See our policies and guidelines for more information on editing."
