[edit] Punches camera man?

I've seen the episode with the interview with the Daytona Beach wrestlers (Season 2, Episode 6 of the HBO show), and although the person being interviewed does get very angry and push the microphone away, there's no evidence that he then punches the camera man. Maybe its featured on another show, or some extras segment... Can anyone provide a link or more information about this? -- Mfv2 22:09, 14 October 2005 (UTC).

I have seen this episode as well, and at least in the American DVD release, the wrestler does NOT punch the camera man. I'm also fairly positive that's not shown in any of the extras, either. Unless the punch is shown in a UK release of the show, that information is incorrect and should be removed. --Alex 01:29, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

When Sacha Cohen was on the Conan O'Brien show they discussed the skit and Conan asked what happened after that, as the episode ended abruptly. Sacha responded that the kid grabbed the camera and punched the camaraman in the face.

[edit] Origins

I don't have exact dates but I know that Bruno was first used for short skits as filler on the Paramount Comedy Channel in the UK (this is also how 'Trigger Happy TV' began). I'm not sure of the exact dates but it seems that this would warrant a mention.

Yes this is correct. It would be useful if someone could dig up information on this. Timb0h 12:59, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

They were shown in 1998, thus predating both Ali G and Borat. Maybe they are on youtube?

They were shown in 1998 on Paramount comedy Channel. Definitely. I've added the information. Enough of us remember this. WP:AGF would apply in this case --90.192.92.142 15:36, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Gay TV

I did not watch the Gay TV episode but don't you think it is a little different than exposed homophobia when people who are OK to talk to a clearly homosexual Bruno before TV cameras get upset when they are told that they would be on Gay TV? As I said I did not watch the episode but what is written in the article suggests that Bruno tells them of their appearence in Gay TV with a tone implying some sort of sexual objectification for the Gay audience. If that is really so, without condoning physical attacks, I would find the wrestlers' getting upset much more understandable than Sacha Cohen's behaviour who after all makes a living by making fools of unsuspecting people. I think either that part of the incidence should be made clearer or a more impartial tone should be adopted for describing Sacha Cohen's comedy. 150.216.151.84 20:40, 5 December 2005 (UTC)

That "part of the incidence" is already clear enough. Since you haven't seen the episode, you have no way of knowing what "tone" Bruno used, so your objection is in bad faith. There are plenty of other implications here beside "some sort of sexual objectification." BarrettBrown 18:43, 19 January 2006 (UTC)

is "excruciatingly uncomfortable-to-watch" npov?

[edit] Name Correction Suggestion

His name is in fact Brüno with a "ü". this should be changed.. His part of the Ali G show is called "Funkyzeit mit Brüno" where it's clearly shown with the letter ü.

[edit] season 1 ep 3

im sorry but i have reveiwed that episode and i dont see the part mentioned here about the marc jacobs show and gisele bundchen, could someone please clairify as that seems like a glaring error, i do remember seeing those scenes before but the bruno segment in the "politics" episode is some manhattan catwalk fashion event KarlJohannes 08:10, 14 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] 7-inch Schlong???

Bruno never mentions this in any episode. This is an Ali G characterization. I believe it should therefore be removed. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.98.238.3 (talk) 01:34, 14 January 2007 (UTC).

Bruno (Sacha Baron Cohen character)Bruno (character) — Name is extremely difficult to spell out and is overly specific; there are no other popular "Bruno" characters, so adding the actor behind it is over-disambiguation. Request that it just be moved back to the regular "character" title, or somewhere else, I don't care. Hbdragon88 23:58, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Survey - in support of the move

  1. Support much simpler and in the event that Cohen allows usage of the character by other actors, we're covered. 205.157.110.11 22:20, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Survey - in opposition to the move

  1. May I suggest instead Bruno (Da Ali G Show) as a possible move target? There are undobutedly other "Bruno's" out there. Bruno the Kid comes readily to mind. --Lenin and McCarthy | (Complain here) 23:39, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
That would be covered by the disambiguation page Bruno. Looking at the move logs, some users didn't like "Da Ali G" because the character would soon be moving out to other shows. Hbdragon88 02:50, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

This article has been renamed from Bruno (Sacha Baron Cohen character) to Bruno (character) as the result of a move request. --Stemonitis 16:22, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Another Bruno statement

Didn't Bruno used to say: "auf der kampf" or "to the camp with it" or something similar? --Soetermans 07:41, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Movie

The Bruno movie is listed on IMDB with release date and status. I added a note to that effect in the "Movie" section. For sake of preserving the debate over its status, I did not delete that section. However, it may need additional rewriting.Mzmadmike (talk) 15:49, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
