Bruce Stewart (rugby league)

Bruce 'Lapa' Stewart (b. in Sydney, Australia), an Indigenous Australian is a former rugby league player in the New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL).

Stewart played for South Sydney in the junior and lower grades before joining the Eastern Suburbs club in 1967, where he scored 10 tries from his 24 appearances.

An winger, Stewart was said to be a bit of a character and very popular amongst his team mates. Bruce's son Corey Stewart also played for Eastern Sububs.

Stewart, who worked as a truck driver, is currently recovering from a stroke.[citation needed]
