Suhotra das (formerly known as Suhotra Swami, birth name Roger Terrance Crowley) was born in Massachussetts in 1950, left in April 8, 2007 in Mayapur, India. He was one of the leading disciples of A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and a guru within the International Society of Krishna Consciousness (commonly known as 'the Hare Krishnas' or ISKCON).
Suhotra became a member of ISKCON in October or November of 1971 when he joined the ISKCON temple in Boston, USA. In 1972 he was initiated by Srila Prabhupada. Suhotra was a member of Radha Damodara Travelling Sankirtan Party and then in Bhaktivedanta Book Trust Library Party.
He was a Governing Body Commission member for 12 years (he was responsible for preaching in Norway, Finland, Benelux, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece) and a GBC Chairman.
Since March 2003 he was a member of Shastric Advisory Council (SAC).
He was an expert in Vedanta philosophy and he wrote books:
- Substance and Shadow: The Vedic Method of Knowledge (1996),
- Transcendental Personalism - Vedic Answers for the Human Situation (1997),
- Dimensions of Good & Evil (1999).
