Talk:Brontok (computer worm)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I have a problem with this bug in 2 of my 4 computers. Hmmm, SqueakBox 00:58, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

I used DrWeb's CureIt to erase Brontok. Copy cureit.exe to a pendrive, reboot the infected pc in safe mode, then run cureit.exe.

[edit] Treating Brontok

You can treat brontok using Kaspersky latest version... Just your my Computer, if some viruses can't treat it try to update... besides that scan it followed by your AVG anti virus.

[edit] Fake Folders

All of the computers at my school got hit by lots of viruses (Most notably, Brontok.A). I got a queston, does brontok also creates "Fake" folders? Because on all infected PC´s, there are also fake folders with the name of the folder you´re in (AKA, My documents has a "folder" named My documents.EXE). It´s actualy an EXE, if you open it, it crashes for 4 to 5 seconds and then opens another Windows Explorer window in the EXPLORE setting. Is this caused by Brontok.A?--Darkangelsv1 17:42, 1 October 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, this virus does this. Very annoying too. Shawn 13:01, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
