Talk:Broadcasting House (disambiguation)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Is it appropriate to refer to the old Leeds building as "Old Broadcasting House"? It was never referred to as such during its occupation by the BBC. - 15:05, 1 December 2007 by 82.27.78.17

If you, or anyone else, would like to write about it (it has a long radio drama history) then you are most welcome to under the title it's known as now Old Broadcasting House, or under Broadcasting House (Leeds) and I'll put in a redirect on the unused one. I opted for the title Old Broadcasting House because that's what it's now known as and to try and differentiate it from the Broadcasting Centre built almost next door in the early seventies as the headquarters of BBC North and its new BBC TV studio. Broadcasting Centre was a popular BBC term at that time.
As a side issue and since doing this - Old Broadcasting House is now becoming used by the Beeb to describe the original Broadcasting House in Portland Place in an attempt to differentiate it from the new extension built next to it. Déjà vu or what?...Zir (talk) 13:05, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
