[edit] Merge

PCT is a different theory, with a particular historical reconstruction that is not proposed by the Broad Homeland hypothesis. At the most PCT could be considered a generalization of the Broad Homeland hypothesis. As such, I might see some possibilities in incorporating PCT by means of a section dedicated to PCT. However, I don't think this would be helpful in explaining the ideas of Lothar Kilian and Häusler. Moreover, the results of the PCT Workgroup seem to serve another purpose. [edit] Criticism against Criticism section

Who marked it? Personally, I think the criticism section, citing Kortland, misses the point of criticizing the Broad homeland hypothesis, i.e. it has such low quality that it should either be moved away to some other article, or could outright be erased. Criticism in this article, should regard criticism against the Broad homeland hypothesis and not against general tendencies in PIE urheimat hypotheses. Said: Rursus 15:46, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

I don't think the tendencies "to search for archaeological evidence beyond what can be motivated from historical linguistics" are so general to PIE urheimat hypotheses at all, or that the criticism of Kortlandt at the time was directed against any other theory. And why linguistic criticism is of low quality? Rokus01 (talk) 17:02, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
