Brown Mackie College – Findlay in Findlay, Ohio, is a member of the Brown Mackie College system of schools, a collection of private, for-profit educational institutions for career preparation in the business, legal, health sciences, information technology, and creative fields. The Brown Mackie College system of schools has 18 locations in eight states throughout the Midwestern, southeastern, and southwestern United States, and has a total enrollment of 9,078 students (as of fall 2006). The Brown Mackie College schools are owned by Education Management Corporation, based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Brown Mackie College schools provide bachelor’s degree, associate’s degree, diploma, and certificate programs.
Educational accreditation of the Brown Mackie College schools’ programs varies among schools.

Brown Mackie College — Findlay was founded in 1926 by William H. Stautzenberger to provide solid business education at a reasonable cost. In 1960, the college was acquired by George R. Hawes, who served as its president until 1969. In the following years, it was operated by other school organizations until reacquired by Hawes in 1978. In September 1997, the college was acquired by Stautzenberger College Education Corporation. In 1999, the college changed its name to Southern Ohio College — Findlay, and in 2001, to AEC Southern Ohio College. The parent company of AEC Southern Ohio College was acquired by Education Management Corporation in 2003. In 2004, the name was changed to Brown Mackie College — Findlay.
Brown Mackie College — Findlay is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools( ACICS) to award associate’s degrees and diplomas. ACICS is listed as a nationally recognized accrediting agency by the United States Department of Education. Its accreditation of degree-granting institutions also is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
Brown Mackie College — Findlay is licensed by the Ohio State Board of Career Colleges & Schools.
