Broussasia is a monotypic genus of flowering plant in the family Hydrangeaceae. It consists of the single species Broussaisia arguta, known commonly as Kanawao.
Kanawao is a perennial plant native to Hawaii. A relative of the garden Hydrangea, it is a widespread species occurring in mesic and wet forests on all Hawaii's main islands. It is a dioecious, evergreen shrub growing to 4 m tall, with opposite, ovate leaves 15-30 cm long with a serrated margin.
