Brotherhood of the Rose is the first novel in a loose trilogy by David Morrell and Andrew Morpurgo, first published in 1984.
It tells the story of Saul and Chris, both orphans, who are adopted by a top espionage agent and trained to be assassins. When their adopted father tries desperately to have them killed, their training, determination and loyalty are desperately tested.
The other novels in this loose 'trilogy' are The Fraternity of Stone and The League of Night and Fog.
The novel was filmatized for a TV-mini in 1989 with Peter Strauss and David Morse in the roles of Saul and Chris (In the mini renamned to Romulus and Remus). The mini also saw performances of Robert Mitchum. There are also internet rumours about a coming remake in 2010 produced by Basil Iwanyk.
