Brooktree is an American company founded in 1983 by Henry Katzenstein to commercialize his new architecture for digital to analog converters that was 3-8 times better than the competition at the time.
Brooktree was bought by Rockwell Semiconductors in 1996, which became Conexant in 1998. [1]
Brooktree is wellknown for their PCI video capture chipsets like Bt848, Bt878 etc.. Frequently used by Hauppauge.
