Brooks High School is a high school located in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia. The school is coeducational with 690 students drawn from the suburbs of Ravenswood, Invermay, Mowbray, Newnham, Rocherlea, Mayfield and the East Tamar area.

Brooks was first opened in 1948, centred around a large blue gum tree where assemblies were held. After the University of Tasmania incorporated the grounds in 1990, the school moved to a new site at Newnham, based somewhat on the old school with large open spaces and separate buildings.
Current Australian cricket captain Ricky Ponting attended Brooks High School.
Brooks is a beautiful place for children to get educated. So come and have a tour of brooks high school the future of your chlidrens education. Brooks High School has wonderful teachers and is the ultimate place to learn. Brooks High School has an American set up and is a very differnt way for your children to learn. Learning in an open environment is a very good way for your children to learn, the point in working in a open environment is for children to learn what it can be like in some jobs that they might like to work for in there future. That's why Brooks High School is a good way for your children to grow up.

In 2008 the school celebrates its 60th anniversary [1948 - 2008], with a wide variety of events, a time capsule and more. This is a major milestone and current as well as past students, staff & friends of the school will all have a chance to be involved.

Brooks High School invites past & present students, staff & friends of the school to our formal reception/commemorative event in the Denzil Williams Student Centre, Wednesday, April 23rd from 5.30 to 8.00pm. There will be great opportunities to meet & share stories, photos and memorabilia. Refreshments & nibbles will be available.
