Broken City

Broken City is a DC Comics comic book written by Brian Azzarello and illustrated by Eduardo Risso. It features the characters Batman, Killer Croc, The Joker and The Ventriloquist.

Batman investigates the murder of Elizabeth Lupo, believed to have been killed by Killer Croc. Batman deduces that Lupo's brother Angel was the murderer by interrogating various suspects, such as Margo Farr (Angel's Lupo's lover), the Penguin and the Ventriloquist, with help from Gotham City detective Crispus Allen. At last Batman learns that Angel was innocent, the real criminal being the Ventriloquist. All this time the Joker has been monitoring Batman's movements.
The story's plot, dialogue and design were heavily influenced[citation needed] by Frank Miller's Dark Knight Universe and Sin City.
