[edit] Governance

The school is wholly foreign owned and managed and run on a day to day basis by the Head of Primary.

BSN is governed by the British Schools Group, a non-profit organisation that aims to promote quality British-style education world-wide. The school is also an associate member of The East Asian Association of British International Schools (EAABIS), and is registered with the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority in the UK (ISN: 1880018).

[edit] Curriculum

The school follows the British National Curriculum, which is one of three main internationally recognised curriculums. Students who graduate from National Curriculum schools therefore can choose to study in most universities worldwide without requiring to sit additional examinations.

The National Curriculum is known for its structure which outlines detailed teaching requirements including minimum teaching hours for subjects as well as guidelines on teaching the gifted and talented.

[edit] Student Body

BSN opened in August 2007 with 30 students and grew to 55 students by January 2008. Students are all non-Chinese (PRC) passport holders coming from 17 nationalities. The school maintains a strict enrollment policy limiting non-English speaking students. Most students at the school come from a native English speaking background from countries such as the UK, USA, and Australia.
