British Association for Local History

The British Association for Local History (BALH), based in the United Kingdom, encourages and assists in the study of local history as an academic discipline and as a leisure activity by both individuals and groups.

BALH publishes its own journal, The Local Historian and a magazine, Local History News. It also publishes books on local history.

The association is a charity. Its headquarters are located in Ashbourne, Derbyshire.
