Briguel
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nuno Miguel Pereira Sousa, commonly known as Briguel (born March 8, 1979 in Funchal, Portugal) is a Portuguese football (soccer) defender, who currently plays for his home town team CS Marítimo in the Superliga.
Known simply as 'Briguel' - a homage to the former rock-hard German defender Hans-Peter Briegel (note the slightly different spelling) - the native of Madeira has spent his entire career to date in the green and red colours of Marítimo.
The former Portuguese Under-21 international made his breakthrough in the Marítimo first team in the 2000/01 season, against Boavista, and for many seasons since has challenged for the first choice right back position.
