Brian Thompson (born August 28, 1959) is an American actor. His distinctive square-jaw profile, booming voice, and imposing stature (six-foot-three) has led him to star in many action films, invariably as a villain.

Thompson was born in Ellensburg, Washington to teacher parents.[1] His first role was playing one of the punks who are killed by Arnold Schwarzenegger's character in The Terminator at the beginning of the film. His most prominent role was as the Night Slasher, the enigmatic leader of a cult of serial killers in Cobra alongside action star Sylvester Stallone. The same year, Thompson played a nasty German in John Landis' comedy Three Amigos. Thompson also appeared as Buffalo Bob in the movie Joe Dirt, starring David Spade.

Thompson has also appeared in a wide variety of television shows, primarily science-fiction and fantasy series, including The X-Files (as an alien bounty hunter); Buffy the Vampire Slayer; Kindred: The Embraced (as Eddie Fiori, the leader of the Brujah clan); and Charmed (as both War from the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and the Titan Cronos). Thompson appears in the Star Trek franchises Star Trek: Enterprise (as Admiral Valdore), Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and the film Star Trek Generations. He played the role of Tenctonese Trent Porter in the film Alien Nation.

Thompson has also appeared in the second movie of Mortal Kombat as Shao Kahn.

Cast against his "bad-guy" type, Thompson starred in a family film, Tillamook Treasure as Uncle Jimmy, a rough Oregon logger, for which he was nominated for Best Actor at the Mid-Valley Film Festival in Salem, Oregon.[citation needed]

Thompson lives in Los Angeles with his son and daughter.
