Brian Gant

Brian Reginald Gant (born April 23, 1952 in Vancouver) is a former professional soccer player and Canadian international.

A defender, Gant played 8 seasons in the North American Soccer League, 1974 to 1976 with the Vancouver Whitecaps and 1977 to 1982 with the Portland Timbers. For Canada, Gant played 15 'A' internationals between 1973 and 1981.

Since 1990, Gant has been a youth coach with F.C. Portland, a youth soccer club in Portland, Oregon. He has also coached girls high school soccer Catlin Gabel High School in Portland, and as such was named District 1 Coach of the Year for 2003.

Brian's brother Bruce Gant is also a former NASLer. His niece Christine Sinclair is a star Canadian female player. His wife Sue is a school teacher and sports coach.
