The Breda Corp. A-650 Heavy Rail Subway car is a subway rail car manufactured by Breda Industries in Naples, Italy for the Los Angeles County Metro Rail. The A-650's are used for the LACMTA Red Line service between Union Station and North Hollywood and Wilshire and Western.

The Breda A-650's were delivered in the mid 1990's by truck from San Francisco. The cost for each car is approximately USD 1.5 million each.

Each A-650 is equipped with 4 abreast style (club) seating with maps of the line, back racks, P.A. and climate control. In the operators panel, there is one lever for the throttle and brakes and another for the horn and an emergency stop button.

The Breda A 650 was burned in the tunnel between MacAurther Park and Metro Center in the movie Volcano when a flow of lava flowed down the tunnel and killed everyone on board. The A 650 was also featured in Speed when Jack Travis (Keanu Reeves) finds that the Emergency stop malfunctions and it jumps the track. It is featured yet again in the movie SWAT. It is also featured in countless commercials and TV shows.
