Braziguayan gets 4 Google hits—I don't think this is verifiable at all. BigNate37T·C 15:02, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

The Portuguese word for Braziguayan is Brasiguaio. This word gets 472 Google hits and there is an article in the Portuguese Wikipedia called Brasilguaio. Hope that helps. Carioca 05:53, 24 July 2006 (UTC)

Hey, you mentioned that this term has some merit to it in the Portugese Wikipedia, I was hoping you could see if there are any reliable sources for the numbers and description stated in the English article. Thanks. BigNate37T·C 22:43, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

Hi, according to Folha de São Paulo (which is an important Brazilian newspaper), there are 455 thousand Braziguayans (check this link), as of 2001. According to Revista do Mercosul (or Mercosur Magazine), which used the Catholic Church as a source, in 1981, the Brazilian population in Paraguay (approximately 300 thousand people at the time) were about 10% of the country's population. In San Alberto de Mbaracayú city, approximately 80% of its 23 thousand inhabitants are of Brazilian ancestry. Regards, Carioca 23:36, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Information added to article

I've placed some of the information Carioca gave me into the article. The sources are non-English, so I won't be able to properly cite them as references. They are listed in the external links section. Any English/Portugese bilingual editor is welcome to finish this off for me, thanks. BigNate37T·C 00:17, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
