[edit] International recognition

Please can User:172.188.142.236 explain why he believes England is more encyclopedic that United Kingdom, further broken down into top level NUTS 1 subdivisions (the regions of England)? Yorkshire Phoenix (talk) 11:01, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Perhaps you could explain why you are on a crusade to abolish the use of the world "England" in the encyclopedia? Morwen - Talk 11:04, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
This is an international encyclopedia and the United Kingdom is the name of the state in an international context. I have no problem with the use of "England" in British articles, but this is an international disambiguation page, besides: I have used the word "England" where it appears in the NUTS 1 subdivisions.
