Braulio Castillo, hijo

Braulio Castillo, hijo (born c. 1958) is a Puerto Rican serious and comedic actor, radio host, and MC. He is the son of Braulio Castillo, a legendary actor across Latin America, and the brother of the lesser known Jorge Castillo, also a television and theater actor.

For a short time during the 1970s, he was first known in Puerto Rico doing newsbreaks for WKBM-TV Channel 11 in Caguas, now Univision O&O WLII.[1]

Castillo reached national fame in Puerto Rico when he participated in the 1984 Spanish soap opera Coralito at San Juan-based WKAQ-TV Channel 2. There, he shared star billing with Mexican actor Salvador Pineda and with Sully Diaz. Castillo reached teen idol status across Puerto Rico after that soap opera. In 1985, he was the star of the Tanairi soap opera, alongside Von Marie.

Castillo subsequently worked on soap operas in different countries, such as Mexico, Peru and Venezuela.

As the 1990s came about he starred in the television sitcom broadcast by WKAQ: Tres Hombres y..., inspired by the movie: Three Men and a Baby, alongside Raymond Arrieta and Alba Nydia Díaz. Castillo also was the leading man of the telenovela Karina Montaner, opposite Giselle Blondet, broadcast by WAPA-TV Channel 4, also in San Juan.

For several years, Braulio left Puerto Rico to star in various soap operas in Colombia.

In 2003, Castillo resurfaced, in the film Los Diaz de Doris, alongside co-star Cordelia Gonzalez, actress and senator Velda Gonzalez, actor Kidany Lugo and former Major League Baseball player Cirilo Cruz.

In 2006, he performed the leading role of the famous Broadway musical: Chorus Line, at the Caguas Performance Arts Center, alongside Marian Pabon and Daniela Droz, among others. Castillo was acknowledged not only for his acting, but for his phenomenal attributes as a stage dancer, his well fit body, and his perfect English.

Presently (2007), he hosts a daily radio morning talk show alongside Mirayda Chavez, the daughter of Awilda Carbia.

Also, Castillo performed the leading role of the new Jacobo Morales's action film titled Ángel.
