[edit] Personal Life

Raised in Gardiner, Montana and Livingston, Montana, Brandon went to Park High School, pursuing an Associates degree in Science at the University of Montana in 1999.[3][4] He later joined the United States Marine Corps and completed five years and two tours of duty as a Scout Sniper in the 2nd Battalion 5th Marine Division.[5]

During this time he was stationed at many locales including Okinawa Island, the Philippines, East Timor, and most notably Iraq for a 28 month detail.[3] While serving with the Marines, Brandon began to study MMA, learning Shamrock brothers defensive tactics and Marine Corps Martial Arts Program styles, having never previously boxed or wrestled in high school.[3]

After leaving the Marines but heading back to Iraq as a Personal Security Detail contractor for Triple Canopy, Inc. he continued to develop his MMA skills, adding grappling to his arsenal after meeting other contractors who were training BJJ.[3] He later returned to the U.S. to pursue a career as an MMA fighter.

[edit] Mixed Martial Arts Career

Brandon started his MMA Career in the MMA World Fighting Championships, earning a perfect 2-0 professional record within the first several months of his debut. [6]

Not long after his start in the WFC, his Gracie Tampa teammates Allen Berube and Matt Arroyo heard from Craig Piligian, the Executive Producer of The Ultimate Fighter: Team Rampage vs. Team Forrest that there would soon be a casting call for the show and got together with Sene to make an audition video for Piligian.[7]

[edit] The Ultimate Fighter

While the video, along with Gracie Tampa's endorsement, were enough to earn Brandon a spot on the show, they were not enough to ensure that he would stay there. After selling both his cars and quitting his job to head to Las Vegas, Nevada, Sene soon found out, along with the other 31 fighters accompanying him, that he would have to fight his way into the Ultimate Fighter house that season.[8]

In his qualifying match on the second episode of the show, "No Losers Here", Sene secured his spot in the house by defeating Aaron Meisner via Rear naked choke in a come from behind victory in the second round.[9]
