[edit] History
Starting in 1988, Kris and Tim Heireth, inspired by the alternative music rich community they called home, founded a band called Heads Up Display (1988-1992), which later evolved into Joy Machine (1993-1996). Joy Machine gained a huge following on mp3.com after the release of their remastered demos in October 2000 on their retrospective CD entitled "The Best That Never Was".
After a three year solo experiment called Car Crash Set (1997-1999), Tim decided to form a new band and in August of 1999 Brand New Idol was born. Kris joined up shortly thereafter.
BNI released their debut album "Still Beautiful Falling Apart" in the fall of 2001 to the critical acclaim of the global synthpop community, including awards for Album of the Year, Best Unsigned Artist and Song of the Year for "Your Favorite Disguise" on the Electrogarden Network.
In October 2002 Victor Leon joined as the newest member on keyboards. The trio continues to write and perform and are gearing up for the Summer 2007 release of their second album. The band has several great songs including "Someone Else's Eyes", "The Notorious Gentleman", "Atomic Age Playboy" and "Better than You".
Brand New Idol has contributed a track to first compilation release on Kiss My Asterisk Records. They decided back when this was originally going to be strictly a Heavy Metal tribute done by electronic artists to cover Dio and his classic "Holy Diver".
