BR-alpha is a German television owned by regional broadcaster Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR)

BR-alpha broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with programmes from BR, as well as from ARD and Austrian broadcaster ORF.

BR-alpha broadcasts educational programmes including; religion, music, philosophy, literature, art and culture.

BR-alpha is available in Bavaria (and in neighbouring states), via analogue, digital and cable. By satellite on Astra 1C (analogue) and Astra 1H (digital). Furthermore, BR-alpha in Bavaria is available on DVB-T.
