[edit] Summary

Personalized plates representing my initials both in Indiana and Colorado. The first plate is what I had from 1999 to 2007 of the discontinued Blue Denim design. The Blue Denim was discontinued in 2000. From 1995 to 1999, I had the combo as truck plates - same background except in place of the county - El Paso, it said Truck.

The newer plate is the Designer plate which is printed instead of embossed like the other two plates. It is currently in use on my Jeep.

The last was the plate I had in Indiana. I have several of these. The one you see with the 1997 year was never used since I moved to Colorado in July of 1995. In Indiana, I picked up the plate in January and while in the BMV, I order my personalized tag for next year. The personalized one I used from Indiana was issued in 1995 with an expiration year of 1996. The 1997 tag I was not able to pick it up until the end of 1997 from the Carmel license branch. The state does an audit on unused expired personalized plates and then if people don't pick them up, they are subject to destruction/recycling. At the time in Indiana, you had to reorder your personalized plate and pay the fee each year and it was available for pickup the next calendar year.
