Official Portrait of US Marine Corps (USMC) Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Gregory "Pappy" Boyington, Commander, Marine Fighter Squadron 214 (VMF-214) "Black Sheep" taken at Marine Corps Headquarter, Washington D.C., October 5, 1945. LTC Boyington was awarded the Medal of Honor and was an Ace Pilot credited with 28 kills.
