Boyd Huppert

Boyd Huppert is a feature reporter for the news station KARE 11, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota. His work includes the segment "Land of Ten Thousand Stories" which focuses on non hard news. He also broke the story of restaurants that sell Zander in the place of Walleye. He has won four RTNDA Edward R. Murrow Awards, most recently in 2004. He won the NPPA's first ever Journalist of the Year award in 2006. His work has been shown on CNN and NBC. Prior to working at KARE he worked at WITI in Milwaukee, WSAW in north central Wisconsin and at KETV in Omaha, Nebraska.
Huppert is widely regarded by industry insiders as one of the most talented "storytellers" in TV news. He volunteers vacation time to speak at a yearly conference where young journalists are inspired by his writing, his approachable attitude and his genuine selfless spirit. Those who have met Boyd, whether in a mentoring role or as a story subject, are universally left better for the experience.
Boyd resides in Edina, MN, and has 2 children, Sam, and Matt.
