From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Common names for animals are always dangerous, but this is not what is commonly called a "boxfish". This is what is commonly called a "porcupine fish", in the pufferfish family. it can inflate its body and cause its spines to stand up. Boxfish and trunkfish are related, but have a rigid set of plates under the skin that prevent them from inflating.
