Canada's Bow River thunders over Bow Falls just before the junction of the Bow and Spray Rivers. The falls are located near the Banff Springs Hotel and golf course on the left-hand side of River Road.
Large number of tourists visit the falls annually because of its proximity to Banff. It is not the size of the falls that attracts them as it is only a few metres high.
The 1953 Marilyn Monroe film The River of No Return featured the falls.
