In the business and academic world there is often a need to submit a formal bound report. There are certain formatting guidelines that should be followed.
Contents |
[edit] dsds
[edit] Spacing
Unless otherwise specified, use triple spaced typing. [1]
[edit] Capitalization
Every word except for articles in the chapter and section headings should be capitalized. [2]
[edit] Page Numbering
Every page in the report including the covers have a designated number but they will not always be displayed. Any pages that preface page #1 should be numbered with lowercase roman numerals. Do not display page numbers on the transmittal letter, title page, page 1 of the introduction, any appendix divider pages, or the first page of the table of contents. Page numbers can be displayed in the center of the bottom of the page or in the top right corner. Avoid using the latter method, on any pages that have a centered heading on the first level. [3]
[edit] Headings
Chapter and section headings should be two inches below the top edge of the sheet. They should also be one inch or more from either margin. Section headings should be preceded by one extra blank line to separate them from other text. Use centered headings for more important topics. [4]
