Boulevard Mall, which opened in 1962, is a shopping mall located at the western edge of the Town of Amherst in Erie County, New York, USA. The name derives from its location on Niagara Falls Boulevard (U.S. Route 62), which divides Amherst from the Town of Tonawanda. Boulevard Mall is north of the City of Buffalo. The Boulevard Mall is a super-regional mall with a gross leasable area of 904,000 square feet (84,000 m²).[1]
The importance of Boulevard Mall has decreased over the years as newer, and sometimes larger malls, have been built around Buffalo. Nevertheless, the mall has been upgraded several times in the past and lies in the heart of a large commercial section that has grown up around it.
Because of its proximity to the border of Canada, Boulevard Mall is a frequent destination for Canadian shoppers.
