Boston Building

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Boston Building is a 9 floor building located at the corners of E. 17th St. and Champa in downtown Denver. It was built in 1890 and designed by Andrews & Jacques[1], the same architects who designed the nearby Equitable Building (Denver, Colorado).

The building was renovated in 1998 and joined with the Kistler Building to create one- and two-bedroom apartment lofts[2]. The lofts are currently operated by AIMCO as the Boston Lofts.

The lofts retain some of the character of the original building including high ceilings, exposed brick, pressed-tin ceilings, and original stained-glass windows on the 2nd floor. The original building had vaults in the corners of the building which were converted into vestibules for the corner units[3]. Some units retain the heavy vault doors on the outer vestibule.
