(October 12, 1800). Off Guadeloupe during naval hostilities with France, the USS Boston (thirty-six guns), Capt. George Little, captured the French corvette Le Berceau after a twelve-hour chase and a stubborn engagement extending intermittently from 4:30 till after 10 P.M. Though almost completely dismantled, the Berceau was towed into Boston as a prize.
