Borland Racing Developments

Borland Racing Developments is an Australian racing car manufacturer, with its own in house racing team.
BRD is run by Mike Borland who is also the racing car designer. Their first product was the Spectre line of Formula Vee racing cars. From there Borlad moved into Formula Ford, debuting his first Spectrum in the early 1990's. Spectrum is the only current Formula Ford manufacturer in Australia.
Since then Spectrum's have twice won the Australian Formula Ford Championship, in 1998 with Adam Macrow racing the Spectrum 06 and 2006 with John Martin racing the Spectrum 011, the later in BRD's own race team. Ashley Walsh was runner up in 2007.
The current model is the Spectrum 011a.
BRD's in house racing team, known as the CAMS Rising Stars as it is partially funded by CAMS and used as a youth development program. The team vies with Sonic Motor Racing to be the premier professional Formula Ford team in the country.
BRD also construct the Daytona production sports car, made infamous by the crash in which Peter Brock was killed in 2006.
