[edit] Background

Raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Boris is a metal smith of all shapes and sizes. Starting at age 13, Boris found an interest in the metal arts when he took a class where he made brass knuckles and throwing stars. His interest continued to grow as he experienced the industry through more classes and meeting local artists. He began classes at the Pittsburgh Center of Arts, Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Arts, Tyler School of Arts and then onto Carnegie Mellon University. Through his travels and apprenticeships, Boris showed an interest in the more extreme and mechanical aspect of design.
