In athletics and other sports, the Borg Scale measures the rate of perceived exertion. Sports coaches use the scale to assess the intensity of training and competition. The original scale introduced by Gunnar Borg rated exertion on a scale of 6-20; many practitioners use a revised scale of 0-10 developed by the American College of Sports Medicine.
