Borealis Exploration Ltd. is a Gibraltar-based research and development company that owns subsidiaries dealing with materials and power transfer. The company considers itself a virtual company, and is publicly traded. Its subsidiaries include Power Chips, Cool Chips, Chorus Motors, and Avto Metals.
The company is working on thermotunnelling technology in its Power Chips and Cool Chips subsidiaries. The company has suggested building a car engine with the "power chips", and says that such an engine could deliver power with 60%-70% carnot efficiency - at least 4 times a combustion engine's ~15% efficiency. Boeing Phantom Works and Air Canada have successfully tested the Chorus Motor's Wheeltug motor system, making onboard electric drive motors viable for the first time. [3] Boeing and Chorus Motors have formed a partnership to develop and market this technology. [4]
