[edit] Career
Wright's character, Ginny Weasley, appears in the first film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001), only in a small scene set at King's Cross Station. Her role became more prominent with the second movie, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002), in which her character begins studies at Hogwarts while dealing with a very powerful secret diary that begins to seize her soul and consciousness. Wright's role in the third film, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004), was significantly smaller, leaving her with only one line of dialogue. However, the character became a more important supporting character in the fourth and fifth films, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Wright is currently set to reprise her role in the next film, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, where her character plays a leading role as Harry's main love interest.
Wright is friends with fellow actress Gillian Maguire. On the Harry Potter set Wright became very good friends with co-stars Katie Leung who plays Cho Chang, Evanna Lynch who plays Luna Lovegood, Afshan Azad, who plays Padma Patil, and Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger.
Wright has also starred in two television movies: 2002's Stranded and 2004's Agatha Christie: A Life in Pictures playing the younger version of Agatha Christie.[6]
Recently Wright was a guest on Disney's The Replacements voicing Vanessa in season two opener 'London Calling'.
