Bone pathology

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bone pathology, also known as orthopedic pathology is a subspecialty of surgical pathology which deals with the diagnosis and characterization of neoplastic and non-neoplastic diseases of bone. Because architecture is a defining feature of many bone diseases, it is critical for the pathologist to correlate gross and microscopic findings with the findings of in-vivo radiological studies, and occasionally, specimen radiographs.
