[edit] Bombing cities

I have removed the following text from the article, pending discussion. "Throughout the war, Bomber Command carried on attacks on German civilian morale by bombing cities, a futile policy endorsed by Air Minister Sir Charles Portal and Prime Minister Winston Churchill."

As it stands, it is one-sided and not wholly true. It seems likely that any attempt to correct the false impression it gives would lead to the sort long argument already seen where the subject of bombing has arisen.

I recommend therefore, that it should be dropped. (RJP 12:33, 1 October 2005 (UTC))
