The poll in Santa Cruz was, as I understand it, entirely unofficial, promoted by and campaigned for by opponents of the government. It was alleged that those staffing the "polling stations" employed bullying tactics. As such, it was not much more than a petition under duress. This should be reflected in the article, and the word "referendum" might not be justified. Kevin McE (talk) 17:51, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
