According to the map I am looking at (American Map Florida State Road Atlas 2003), Boca Grande is in Lee County, not Charlotte. Gasparilla Island is nearly all in Charlotte County, the exception being the community of Gasparilla on the far northern tip of the island. Furhter corroboration that Boca Grande is in Lee County comes from the link to the Boca newspaper - its lead article at this time mentions the Lee County govgernment.

No, Boca Grande is split between Lee and Charlotte counties. Most of Boca Grande, however, is in Lee County. Accordingly, the Boca Beacon tends to give more coverage to Lee County government.
