Boaz Frankel (born Portland, Oregon, 24 May 1982) is a television personality, who hosted and co-created Clips & Quips and currently hosts Backstage Live. As a kid, Boaz adored Jim Henson and the Muppets, and his love for them continues to this very day.
Boaz eventually left Portland to attend New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. It is at NYU where Boaz created On The Cusp, the most popular show to ever air on NYU TV. In 2004, Boaz appeared on the Today Show's "The Intern" segment where he went on to win the top prize. It was also during this year that Boaz appeared on the very short-lived WB reality show, Studio 7. Over the past two years, Boaz Frankel has made a name for himself on the tv circuit. He revolutionized the world of kazooing by having the first kazoo-sponsored TV show and even taught Peter Sarsgaard to play kazoo and Sarah Silverman to play dreidel. In June of 2007, Boaz brought Clips & Quips to an end and began development of Backstage Live, a new online entertainment talk show for Groupee.
In addition to these accomplishments, Boaz recently broke the Guinness World Record for "most high-fives in an hour", an event which took place in Pioneer Courthouse Square in Portland, Oregon. "I definitely see myself moving back to Portland in a few years...it's just so wonderful here, the best place on earth" said Frankel when asked about future plans. He also has many other projects that are in the works.
