Talk:BMW N53
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The N53 is common knowledge among people who work for BMW and also for those who follow the car industry. Plans for it leaked out already in 2003. You can google it and get tons of hits easily. It'll be the next engine family after current N52 and N54, replacing the N52 engines with Direct Injection engines slowly. Timeline is not certain, it is expected to happen between 2007-2009.
If you can't google these details as sources, then you may have some issues.
More information will be added, of course, as soon as it is available, but there are several references to the N53 on wikipedia already as well, so it's better to give out what information is available, than nothing.

- It still helps if you provide references before removing an {{unref}} template. Why not use {{cite web}} (see WP:CITE) and cite some of those googlable sources? (Just because something is googlable doesn't mean it's reliable; and you must have written the article from some sources, otherwise it's original research and will be deleted. It helps if you say what those sources are.) --ais523 10:49, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
Well, as a matter of fact I used the N52 article as a basis since I corrected tons of errors in it last night and just entered the data that I have read and heard from individual persons personally or web postings regarding the new engine. So no, I have not copied the data from anywhere, but it's not "original research" either.
There will be a lot of data on this engine here as it comes public, why not keep a template for those people who wish to know what's already known?

- I've marked the article {{future}}; when more information comes it can be updated. --ais523 11:02, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
Better. Otherwise you could just as well have attacked the N52 article for lack of references, as there were none.
Thank you for letting common sense win.

[edit] Sulphur content
North American sulphur regulations are now 30ppm versus 50ppm for European standards. --Ng.j 00:25, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Displacement
The 2.5 liter version will be replaced by a crippled 3.0 liter version. Similar as the current 523 and 525 who also have the same enginge but diffrent power. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 213.65.68.76 (talk) 00:27, 27 April 2007 (UTC).
