Talk:Blue Bell Creameries
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I'm not positive, but i believe that President Bush has bluebell ice cream shipped to him in the white house, as it's not availible in Washington, D.C. Could someone verify the fact and add it? 70.153.93.73 02:38, 5 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Nutty Coconut Ingredients
My Boyfriend is allergic to Almonds and we both are crazy about coconut. So, when I saw the Nutty Coconut cream in the freezer at Albertson's I was ready to get it. Here's the problem, the type of nut used is not listed on the lid. Could you please enlighten me on the nuts used in this flavor? Thank you- Yvonne Hyatt
21:45, 8 August 2006 (UTC)~ Hi there! I proudly work for Blue Bell. Nutty Coconut consists of: Coconut Ice Cream with coconut flakes, chopped pieces of almonds, pecans and walnuts. So tell your boyfriend to steer clear of this flavor due to his allergy. We have many other delicious flavors though. -M.H.
[edit] Unsourced
Moving this here to Talk.
- Rumor has it that the Blue Bell logo (girl with cow in tow) was drawn by an art student named Leta Kaye who became fairly active in Texas politics.
If someone can find a source citation for this it can go back in the article. Dpbsmith (talk) 16:38, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Unsourced flavor lists
I'm pretty sure there are no flavors named "Gonorhrea Morning Surprise" or "Kitten Upchuck," but this just underlines the problem with unsourced material.
I have no way of knowing which of the other flavors are real, either. So I'm moving this entire section here. It can restored to the article by anyone who can add a verifiable source citation.

[edit] Which decade?
"By the 1960s, the company completely abandoned the production of butter and began focusing solely on ice cream. By the end of the decade, the company began to expand their markets. After many years of selling ice cream only in Brenham, the company began selling in Houston, then in Dallas and throughout most of Texas. By the end of the decade, their sales had quadrupled. . . ."
This is a little unclear. Does the second "by the end of the decade. . ." refer to the 1960s? The 1970s? Emoll 21:52, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] disappointed with what I see in the ingredients
The use of "old-fashioned" to describe the Blue Bell line would only be accurate if the writer assigns that term to the common manufacturing techniques for ice cream in the 1970's. The rise of Haagen-Dazs and Ben & Jerry's in the 1980's eliminated the widespread use of preservatives, artificial flavors and artificial colors in most mass-market ice cream; ONLY BLUE BELL of the big brands still demonstrates a reliance on these for NEARLY EVERY FLAVOR. I hope someone in the business will pick up on this for an add or edit before the end of the year - if not I will take it upon myself. 66.32.174.59 05:16, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
