Blue Wind Stakes

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Blue Wind Stakes is a Group 3 flat horse race in the Republic of Ireland for three-year-old and above thoroughbred fillies and mares. It is run over a distance of 1 mile and 2 furlongs (2,012 metres) at Naas Racecourse in May.

It is named in honour of the Irish trained racehorse Blue Wind, winner of the Epsom Oaks and Irish Oaks in 1981. Prior to 2005 the race took place at Cork. It was promoted to Group 3 status in 2004, having earlier been classed as a Listed race.
