This band played at the 2008 Artopia event thrown by SF Weekly, which is the main art weekly in San Francisco published by the Village Voice (I cited to the event website). They were advertised in a full-age ad in the paper - that's the type of thing that might make someone (like myself) look them up in Wikipedia. Wikipedia is the easiest and most obvious way of finding info on a band. When a band gets mentioned in a well-respected art paper in a major city, I think that's evidence of the need for a Wiki page.
