The image should not use the conventional symbol for a multiplier as a stand in for an adder. Besides being very confusing it surely would have been just as easy to create a regular circle instead of a circle with an 'X' in the interior.

I agree that it would be very easy to do what you say but the symbol used is the symbol I am familiar with which has been in use for many years. A search for examples currently on the www did not yield either yours or mine but did yield a few other variants. No doubt we shall agree a common symbol some time after we have agreed how to spell analogue but I'm not holding my breath.Puffingbilly (talk) 23:32, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
